The Effect of Gamiondam-tang on Sleep Disorder after Traffic Accident: a Clinical Case Report

Abstract

|
The objective of this study is to suggest a herbal treatment for acute sleep disorder after traffic accident. Seven patients took Gamiondam-tang with routine Korean medicine treatment including acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion and physical therapy. Satisfaction levels on sleep were checked by Leeds Sleep Evaluation Questionnaire(LSEQ) when patients were admitted, 3 days after admitted, 1 week after admitted and discharged. In 6 out of 7 patients, LSEQ score elevated by 20.6 on average when they were discharged. There was one case which LSEQ had declined after taking Gamiondam-tang. This study presents that Gamiondam-tang could improve acute sleep disorder after traffic accident.
